Visual Arts in the Church

There are a wide variety of arts in the Church. The most commonly mentioned ones are vestments (i.e. stoles and albs), paraments, architecture, interior design, digital presentation and general decorative artwork. For more information on each, take a look at each page:

The Visual Arts Working Group has compiled a Register of Artists to assist congregations and church organisations who may be interested in commissioning artists and craftspeople with suitable talents and skills.

This register is for information only. The Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) and its departments do not necessarily endorse or recommend any of those listed on the register.

Artists who wish to be included on this register should contact the secretary of the Visual Arts Working Group, Jan Kaesler.

The Visual Arts Working Group has published guidelines to assist people who are unfamiliar with the process of commissioning an artist. If you would like a copy of the Artist Commissioning Guidelines or the Register of Artists contact the secretary of the Visual Arts Working Group, Jan Kaesler.
